Hollyburn Seawalk

Hollyburn Seawalk

West Vancouver

Owner: Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD)
Engineer: Kerr Wood Leidel

A new sanitary trunk sewer was installed to relieve the existing Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) sewer line which had exceeded capacity. The selected route was along the shoreline and through the existing Centennial Seawalk, a highly popular pedestrian and cycling area in West Vancouver. The project had many stakeholders including BC Rail, Ministry of Environment, West Vancouver Parks and several resident associations. The project included:

  • 1.5 km sewer line
  • Improved 5 m wide seawalk
  • 6,500 mt of armour rock to reinforce shoreline
  • Concrete walls along seawalk
  • Decorative lighting
  • Landscaping

Gemco received many letters of compliments and accolades from residents and GVRD for the successful completion of this project.
